Our work with schools

We started working closely with schools over ten years ago, giving practical interview and admissions test support to sixth form students aiming for Oxford, Cambridge, Law and Medical School.

Now we work with over 400 schools every year and support students from state, grammar and independent UK schools, as well as a growing number of international schools around the world.

All our support is designed to give students the knowledge, materials and confidence they need to excel in the application process and ensure their true potential shines through at every stage.

The Key to Success

To succeed in an application to a competitive university, students need to have an enthusiasm for their subject, intellectual curiosity and academic ability. Our research and experience shows that students can benefit from being exposed to the sorts of questions they might be asked at interview and in their admissions tests so that they can develop their thinking skills and learn how to structure their responses.

We also understand that it is important to build up students' confidence in their subject knowledge, and so all our support is as subject-specific as we can possibly make it.

All our mentors and tutors are Oxford and Cambridge graduates who are passionate about giving practical support to students in their approach to every aspect of the applications process, from admissions tests to interview skills.

Our In-school Events

Our team of Oxbridge-graduate tutors can support students at your school with a specially tailored workshop, designed to give them the knowledge and experience necessary to excel in the university applications process for their chosen subject.

We give information and guidance on every aspect of applying to Oxford and Cambridge as well as top Medical and Law Schools, as well as to other prestigious UK universities. We can support them in every aspect of the application – from how to write a strong personal statement to how to tackle their admissions test and prepare for an academic interview.

Our Head Start Days

our_support_01.jpg

The applications process for Oxford, Cambridge and top Law and Medical schools becomes more competitive every year.  We want to provide students with the information, experiences and materials that they need to take their application into their own hands, as well as the practice and feedback required for them to know which areas they need to focus on to put in an application which reflects their full potential.

A Head Start Day is a full day programme of support, covering all aspects of the application process. It is designed to give students thinking about Oxford, Cambridge, Medical and Law school comprehensive information about their course, the chance to think about their subject logically and laterally, as well as experience of a mock interview, which includes individual verbal and written feedback.

Introducing Oxbridge Workshops

teachers_promo1.jpg

For many bright students in Years 10, 11 and 12, the prospect of applying to Oxbridge is quite daunting. Students are intimidated by the workload at Oxford and Cambridge, by the highly competitive nature of the applications process. Many fear that they will not be able to keep up with the work or will not make any friends at their college.

We run short workshops designed to introduce students to Oxford and Cambridge, the differences in the applications processes, as well as the types of questions they might be asked to consider at interview for their subject.

Our In-school Admissions Test Seminars

Admissions tests have become an increasingly important element of applying to Oxford and Cambridge, as well as to top Law and Medical courses.  Now other prestigious UK universities, such as UCL and Manchester, are beginning to require students to sit admissions tests when they apply for particularly competitive courses.

We work with a team of specialist consultants, who are experts in one particular admissions test, to give students the knowledge, skills and strategies they need to excel in their admissions test.

Feedback from the teachers we've worked with

It was a great day, and was the best thing we have done to help the girls prepare for years (I think). The girls gained so much confidence from the day and have lots of direction now to help them prepare.

Independent School Head of Sixth Form after a Head Start Day

I have spoken to the girls this morning and they all agreed that they had learnt a huge amount and felt much more confident as a result.  Many thanks for an excellent workshop and to all the interviewers for putting the students through their paces and providing such useful feedback and advice.

What should your students consider before they decided to apply to Oxbridge?

Many people perceive Oxford and Cambridge to be the best place to study, but the subjects offered, teaching style and course structure aren't for everybody.
