Barry Webb, former admissions tutor for Oxford and member of the Oxbridge Applications board explains what the difference between the colleges and the universities are. He also sheds fascinating light on how the buildings are designed brick-by-brick to encourage learning and intellectual stimulation, and how the intimate teaching environment encouraged by the college-based tuition system all comes together to create a very special place in which to learn.
