Our Support |
| University and Course Selection |
Deciding on the right course and university is an important step in the application process. Admissions tutors are looking for applicants who can show real motivation to study their subject and can articulate their interest in the course. In the initial Private Consultation, our consultant will make an assessment of an applicant’s ability and provide objective and constructive feedback on the best course and university choice. Our dedicated consultant will then offer further guidance and information on courses. |
| College Selection |
You will be guided through this decision by our Oxbridge Platinum Programme team, drawing on: Our internal research and Oxbridge’s own admissions statistics on how competitive each college is; our knowledge of what admissions tutors are looking for in their ideal candidate (drawn from profiles of successful applicants to that college for that course); your preferences, interests and personality (this is determined by the college questionnaire you filled out and our consultant’s analysis of your performance in the interview, coupled with their knowledge of Oxbridge). Once we have compiled the research, you will receive, by email, a shortlist of four colleges, which we deem to be the best matches for you. We will send, in this email, profiles and a student case study for each college and then will follow up with telephone calls in which we will help to guide your choice. |
| Personal Statement Support |
You will be guided on your personal statement by our dedicated Oxbridge Platinum Programme team and your mentor will work with you on 5-7 drafts to ensure your statement reflects your academic potential. You will also receive comprehensive feedback from our former Oxbridge admissions tutor. |
| 14 Hours of One-to-One Mentoring |
Students on our Oxbridge Platinum Programme are assigned to a mentor who read your subject at your chosen university. For example, if you are applying for Maths at Oxford, your mentor will be an Oxford Mathematician. Your dedicated mentor provides 14 hours of one-to-one private tuition by Skype covering relevant material, problem-solving, tuition beyond your sixth form syllabus, advice on outside reading, written work to be submitted, preparation for admissions tests and likely interview questions and topics. This tuition is designed to help you move beyond your school syllabus and develop independent study skills, as well as the ability to argue your point of view articulately so that in an interview you feel confident to tackle questions that come your way. |
| Admissions Test preparation |
Should you be required to sit an admissions test as part of your application, you will receive: two two-hour preparation sessions with one of our specialists in that test. Sample mock tests and answer guides and resources will also be provided so that you will understand the requirements for success and are able to tackle questions confidently and efficiently. These sessions will provide the opportunity to go over your strategy for approaching the questions asked and evaluate your performance in mock tests as well as reviewing the type of questions that you find more challenging. |
| Interview Preparation |
These two sessions are each designed to serve a specific purpose: Analysis & Evaluation |
|

You will receive four one-hour mock interviews, arranged in the two months prior to your interviews. These will be conducted by an Oxbridge graduate in your subject and you will receive oral and written feedback at the end of each interview. The interviews are designed to optimise your understanding of your subject discipline and develop the key abilities admissions tutors seek in successful applicants: flexibility, creativity and independent lateral-thinking. |

The Oxford college with the longest name is Oriel. Its official title is 'The Provost and Scholars of the House of the Blessed Mary the Virgin in Oxford, commonly called Oriel College, the foundation of Edward the Second of famous memory, sometime King of England'. You'd be hard-pressed to find an undergraduate who knew that.

While Cambridge is on the Cam, Oxford is not on the Ox. It's on the Thames, but they call it the Isis. (Just to keep you on your toes!)
