ELAT (English Literature Admissions Test)

To succeed in the English Literature Admissions Test, you need to be able to think critically and analytically about poetry, prose and drama and express your ideas logically and coherantly.

HAT (History Aptitude Test)

To succeed in the History Aptitude Test, you need to be able to make logical, structured arguments and analyse historical information. You need to have strong time management skills and the confidence to apply your knowledge to the question being asked.

LNAT (National Admissions Test for Law)

To excel in the LNAT you need to have the ability to analyse and structure arguments and to think laterally.  You need strong time management skills in order to answer the multiple choice questions and a good understanding of current affairs for the essay.

TSA Cambridge (Thinking Skills Assessment)

To excel in the Cambridge Thinking Skills Assessment, you need to have quick numerical and critical thinking skills.  You need strong time management skills in order to answer the multiple choice questions quickly and accurately.

TSA Oxford (Thinking Skills Assessment)

To succeed in the TSA Oxford you need to be able to analyse and structure arguments and have strong critical and logical thinking skills. You need good time management skills in order to answer the multiple choice questions and a good knowledge of current affairs in order to excel in the essay.

Other university tests

There are a number of other university tests required at Oxford and for Medicine courses.  We have practice papers available for the UKCAT (required for 26 UK Medicine and Graduate Medicine courses), the Physics Aptitude Test (required for Physics, Physics & Philosophy and Engineering at Oxford), the Maths Aptitude Test (required for all Maths courses as well as Computer Science courses at Oxford) and the Oxford Language tests, which are now sat on 7th November - before applicants are invited to interview.
