Mossbourne Academy

10 pupils from Mossbourne Academy have been offered places at Cambridge. The school was opened in 2004 after its previous incarnation, Hackney Downs was closed in 1995, having been named the worst school in the country.

Mossbourne Academy has been praised by Ofsted as the 'best comprehensive in the country'. The headmaster, Sir Michael Wilshaw, puts their success down to 'high expectations'.
