
A level results revealed this morning show a record-breaking 27% A levels being awarded an A grade. 8% all marks were graded A* for the first time ever as the supergrade makes its debut.
Only 9 of the elite Russell Group Universities have announced that they will have places through clearing meaning that intense competition for University places will ensue as nearly 170 000 students are set to miss out on a place and up to 7 straight A students will be competing for each top place.
